Let one interest lead

A food-led visit, a family trip and a landscape-focused journey need different schedules. Pick the interest that should shape your hotel location and the amount of travel you are willing to do each day.

Keep your first day simple. Arrival, a short local walk and an easy meal can be enough; you do not have to make every travel day a sightseeing day.

Be specific about food

Write down allergies, dietary restrictions and ingredients you avoid. A translated note can help communication, but do not assume it guarantees a kitchen can accommodate your needs.

If booking a guided food experience, confirm what is included, the amount of walking, meal format and how dietary questions are handled.

Treat day trips as full decisions

Check the exact destination, total travel time, advance booking needs and return arrangements. A place being described as “near Chengdu” does not tell you what the day will feel like.
