An editorial planning guide, not a booking or a confirmed schedule. Check current official requirements and the actual supplier terms before committing.
Choose the rhythm before the activities
Begin by deciding how much of the stay should be quiet countryside and how much should be easy access to restaurants and transport. A hotel address can matter more than the length of its facilities list.
Use one main outing a day as a planning starting point. Weather, visibility and your own energy can change the appeal of an outdoor day; leave an alternative that does not depend on a perfect view.
Build around a base
Compare the exact location of a proposed stay with the places you want to visit. Ask how the last part of the journey works, when you can check in and whether you can return easily after dinner.
For river or outdoor experiences, confirm the operator, meeting point, included transfers, restrictions and cancellation terms before paying. A beautiful photograph is not a description of what a ticket includes.
A considered next step
Write down the two experiences you would most regret missing, then reserve space between them. Do not schedule a long onward transfer immediately after an activity whose end time is uncertain.
